We are convicted that God desires for us to thrive in our relationship with Him so that we may thrive in our relationship with those He places in our voices in order to bring Him glory and to share His gospel. Our mission is to be a thriving people in a thriving church in a thriving city.
In order for our city to thrive, the church must thrive. In order for the church to thrive, people must thrive. As we thrive in our individual relationships with the Lord the church will inevitable thrive and the gospel will have an even greater impact on our city and beyond.
In order for Christ followers to thrive, we must become like the man God describes in Psalms 1,” He will be like a tree firmly planted by streams of water, which yields it fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither and in whatever he does, he prospers.” To thrive we must Dig into the World of God, we must Grow Up to become more like Christ and we must Branch Out to reach as many people as possible with the good news of god’s amazing grace and salvation.
Today we are continuing to emphasize all three vital aspects of the discipleship in process. In addition, you will see a renewed emphasis on a team ministry model – equipping, encouraging, and empowering church members to lead out in ministries and missions. Committees and ministry teams are actively ministering throughout the year. As we continue to provide opportunities for Digging In and Growing Up, we are making a concerted effort to focus on Branching Out this year. God has been building up His church at FBC Tampa over the last few years in order to prepare us to take the gospel to Tampa Bay and beyond. God is going to do things beyond our imagination this year as we are faithful in missional and international evangelism as well as ministries both within the church and outside the church and missions projects ranging from community missions in the city Tampa to opportunities in the state of Florida and in North America as well as several international mission trips.
Every member of FBC Tampa is a minister and missionary. We have all been called to the highest calling in this world – to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ! Every member is vital to God’s plan and purposes. God has called you to thrive for Him. He has called us to thrive together for His glory.
