WHAT WILL WE BE LEARNING?
This year our camp theme will be “RELENTLESS.” As we study and worship together we will prayerfully come to understand that as believers we can endure any and all circumstances we may experience with God’s presence within us and God’s promises before us.
WHAT WILL WE BE DOING?
Aside from digging into God’s Word every day in personal time with the Lord, small groups, and gathered worship we will…
– We will go to the lake and rent a few boats for a lake day where we will be tubing!
– We will be conquering our fears on a high ropes course and learn how to belay one another on the course.
– We will be working together on low rope challenges.
– We will have a CAMP COLOR WAR as well as many more messy and exciting games!
WHO WILL BE THERE?
Our camp speaker this year will be Brock Caldwell. Brock Caldwell is the Student Associate Pastor at First Baptist Church Rogers in Rogers, Arkansas. Brock is a solid, clear, and relevant Bible speaker gifted to lead students of this generation to treasure Christ.
Our camp worship leader this year will be Matt Gaskin. Matt is a worship minister at The Mount Church in the Fort Worth area of Texas. Matt serves the people of The Mount faithfully and he also travels and leads worship each summer for camps and events of every size, including but not limited to Super Summer Camps and Christian colleges.
HOW WILL WE TAKE PRECAUTION REGARDING COVID-19?
The good thing about having our own camp is that it is fully customizable. We are working with Lake Yale and our ropes course guides to take higher safety precautions than normal. A couple (not all) of those precautions are as follows:
- All students will receive a temperature check before getting on the bus to leave for camp.
- While bunkhouses are large enough to easily fit 30 campers each, while not necessary by Lake Yale’s guidelines, we have locked in plenty of extra cabins so that we will max out each cabin with 15 campers only. That means each student will have their own top/bottom bunk and will not be sharing with other students.
- More info to come…
As you can imagine (even with all precautionary measures possible) it will be difficult to ensure students maintain certain and specific distances at all times, especially with all games we may play. We completely understand and trust your guidance as a parent to make whatever decision regarding camp for the safety of your teenager. Each parent has to make the decision they feel best for their student and we respect and realize your God given role to protect, care, and disciple your student to the best of your ability.
WHAT IS THE COST?
Because we are hosting our own camp this year we were able to bring the camp cost down to $289.00 per camper. If the cost of camp is a prohibiting factor for your student to attend camp this year, please email me at trent@fbctampa.org.
