What does it mean to be an “unsexy” church? When we set out to create a podcast that gives our members an inside look at the life of FBC Tampa and offers additional biblical teaching from our pastors, Pastor Bob shared a thought that stuck with us: if the world is constantly chasing after what’s flashy and attractive, our church is definitely “unsexy.” What began as a lighthearted comment has now become the name of our podcast and a valuable resource for you.
So, what do we mean by “unsexy”? Simply put: we’re not here to cater to the world’s standards or desires. Instead, we are called to live in contrast to them, following the example of Christ. We believe that true beauty and effectiveness in the Church lie in faithfulness to God’s Word and in living out His calling, not in chasing worldly trends.
In each episode, you’ll hear from our pastors, Pastor Bob and Pastor Trent, as they dive into biblical topics and discuss matters related to the everyday life of our church. While you won’t find anything flashy or trendy, you will find sound, Scripture-centered teaching that challenges and encourages us to grow as faithful followers of Christ.
