At FBC Tampa, our mission in the Children’s Ministry is to connect children to a thriving life in Christ. Partnering with parents and families, we aim to support and equip them in discipling their children. From birth through fifth grade, we help children grow in their understanding of God’s Word and experience His love in every aspect of their daily lives.
We are dedicated to providing a biblical foundation that will lead children to know Jesus Christ as their Savior, grow spiritually, and embrace a biblical worldview rooted in the truth of Scripture. This is anchored in Romans 10:17: “So faith comes from what is heard, and what is heard comes through the message about Christ.”

During the school year, children ages 2 through fifth grade are invited to participate in AWANA! AWANA, which stands for “Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed” (based on 2 Timothy 2:15), meets every Wednesday night from 6:15 PM to 7:30 PM in the Kids Zone at FBC Tampa.
Each week, children study and memorize Scripture, learn how to apply God’s Word to their lives, and enjoy fun, energetic games. AWANA is a time to grow in God’s truth while building lasting friendships in a Christ-centered environment.
On Sunday mornings, we aim to help children know God, grow in their relationship with Him, and serve Him with their lives.
Kid’s Core Groups (9:15 AM): Children of all ages are taught God’s Word in ways they can understand, laying the foundation for a lifelong walk with Christ.
Kid’s Worship (10:30 AM): During our main worship service, elementary-aged children gather for a dynamic worship experience filled with singing, age-appropriate Bible study, and active learning. They are also taught how God is using His people to share the gospel worldwide and are challenged to make a difference in their own communities.
Children are always welcome to worship with their families in the Worship Center. On the 1st and 5th Sundays of each month, children join the main worship service to experience worship alongside the whole congregation. We value children as members of the body of Christ and desire for them to witness and participate in the life of the church.
Extended Teaching Care (10:30 AM): For preschoolers and younger, we offer a nurturing environment where they are cared for and taught God’s Word. Our dedicated teachers and assistants serve on a rotating schedule to ensure your children are safe, loved, and learning about Jesus.
Each summer, we invite your children to join us for a transformative week at Vacation Bible School, where they’ll hear the life-changing message of the gospel. Through fun and engaging Bible lessons, songs, dances, games, and activities, your child will discover the love, grace, and hope found in Jesus Christ. VBS is more than just a week of fun—it’s an opportunity for your child to learn about God’s Word, experience His love, and take the message of the gospel into their daily lives.
